Oh boy, my husband. Another man's trash is another man's treasure just covers the surface. Meet our new Santa Claus. He has moved inside and now is located right in front of my purple couch. I could move him, but it just seems so much more fun to dance around him.
I finished all my goals for last night. Sewed the binding on Little Tee's quilt. Since Ryan is home tonight I'll hang out on the couch with him and the mutts and do some hand stitching. I know I said I would machine bind the rest of these, but I really don't want to. I think I'm doing OK on time so I'm taking a couch night tonight. Will get back to Bernie (my sewing machine) later this week.
I also finished Bo's quilt top. McCall's needs to shoot it today and as I was showing it to Karen she noticed I sewed my additional row on wrong. So I flew into Valerie's cubicle and handed her an end and myself an end and we started ripping. After we ripped off the row I ran down to our studio to sew it on the correct side. It ended up being too short, so off to the races, "Who's got batiks?" My co-workers ran into their cubicles to pull out what they had and well, let's just say, it's the Amish part of the quilt. But, what is going to make this quilt is how it will be quilted. I practiced last night.
I'll be quilting this one on Bernie, my own machine. I'm really excited to get it started but I'm going to wait until I'm done with Little Tee's binding. Hopefully that will only take a couple of nights. Whelp, cheers!

Beauitful stitching! I am a beginner and was wondering what number you use for your top tension?

Hi Allison, I used 3.0 as my top tension. I'm not positive it will look this good on the actual quilt, but I'm going to be patient and go slow. I'm a beginner at quilting my quilts, practicing on small squares is helpful, I then use them as pot holders. I've been sewing together fabric since I was 7 and to my surprise I am loving the quilting part of it. Thanks for reading my blog!
