Oh my... what a frustrating situation I've found myself in... two different dye lots = two different greys and I'm not quite sure what to do? I've got 6 rows of pretty in pink sewn together, I've got the inner strips and 2 more rows and this is the best grey I could find... WHAT DO I DO???
Do I keep searching or do I say, the hell with it, it is what it is? Am I chasing some sort of grey ghost?
It was kind of a lazy weekend. Bo's quilt, Wonky, is ready to be shipped. I LOVE this one, so far it's my favorite.
and the back...
Ryan and I hung out most of the day Saturday watching the TV Show, Touch... It makes you really think about the world and how the smallest thing could change your entire future. Whenever I pass an accident on the highway I always think to myself, that could of been me had I left 2 minutes earlier or would if I didn't hit that red light? The people we meet, the ones we don't - it all has some sort of greater purpose. Not like I understand it or anything... I just think it's interesting to think about and all the while that it's interesting, it's overwhelming.
On Sunday the dogs decided to be lazy bones...
This is Lilli and Louie, we call them the L&L Gang. These two cause more trouble than anything I've ever seen or known before. One day I'll tell you the story on how Louie flooded our house.
My big boy on a small bed where he always sits when I sew. That's Anaheim's quilt... I had my Grandma hand quilt it and when she realized I was giving it to my dog she was shocked. "Who ON EARTH makes a quilt for a dog Tracee Jean?"
"I do Grandma."
"You and dogs, I never did understand your undying love for them. I remember when you'd come out to visit, you'd spend more time with the damn dogs than the rest of the family."
Now when she calls the second thing she asks about is "my babies." Ah ha, I showed her!
Yes, nothing seems to make sense in our house. Big dog/small bed. Small dog/big bed. I never claimed to be the dog whisper here... Later on, snosno decides to cuddle up with my phone...
"snosno baby, who do you want to call?"
"Well mom, I'm thinking about calling that cute greyhound across the street."
"You're too young to date!"
"MOM, I'm 56 in dogs years... let it go!"
Other than that, I finished row #1 on quilt #5 - and used up the remaining grey I had on quilt #4... I have to let go of this obsession of my greys matching perfectly or I'm never going to get it done. I'll think about that on the way to work - it's Monday!
