It was 70 degrees two days ago and it's snowing. What the French Toast?! Our emotions are from God - one day it's a comfortable 60 degrees and the next it's snowing.
I wrote this in 2009, before my blog...
"Last May I visited my parents in Iowa. My Mom and I went to a quilt shop. She found a book of patterns, Christmas quilt projects was the basis of the book. She found a wall hanging that she liked, but wanted it as a queen size quilt. Just like any eager beaver, I jumped on it. Little did I realize there was a very good reason this pattern was for a wall hanging. I worked on it nightly for 2 months and lost complete motivation. It is June 14, 2009 and I've decided, almost a year later to revisit my unfinished project.
My intend to write a journal on quilts that I make here on out is quite simple. Documentation.
My history on quilting goes back generations. My passion for it runs in my blood. Quilts are and will be the only part of my family history that remain alive. I believe the women of my past quilted to survive. They survived wars, poverty, depression (the great) and their husbands... simply by making quilts. It is what they did, it is who they were and I'm going to keep it alive. Each quilt that I make will have a story, a purpose... a life. "
5672 pieces are in my Mom's Christmas Quilt.
Oh, and I want a dragon... Anyone know where I can get one?!
